The Justrite Sure-Grip® EX Compac Safety cabinet with a self-close door (model 891220) is for the safe and code-compliant storage of solvents and flammable liquids, such as aerosols, cleaners, and degreasers, on countertops and workbenches. Designed to increase accessibility without compromising safety, this yellow cabinet is ideal for maintenance garages with limited floor space. It is available in a portable size with exterior dimensions of 35 height x 23.25 width x 18 in depth (889 height x 591 width x 457 mm depth). Model 891220 can store 12 gallon (45 l) of flammable liquids. It easily sits on countertops and fits under most workbenches. This model is constructed with a sturdy 18-gauge (1 mm) thick steel double-wall, with 1.5 In. (38 mm) of insulating air space for fire resistance. The fully welded, not riveted, construction holds the squareness of the unit for a longer life and offers greater protection in a fire since air gaps are reduced. The high-performance, self-closing door opens to 140 degrees. A patented, concealed self-close mechanism provides obstruction-free access to shelf space. Continuous piano hinges ensure the door closes smoothly every time. When used properly as designed, safety cabinets with self-closing doors shut automatically in case of a fire. The self-closing doors, under tension, are held open by using fusible links. Under fire conditions, when the ambient temperature reaches 165 F (74 C), the links melt and the safety cabinet’s self-closing doors automatically swing shut.
