Description
The perfex track & switch broom with chisel-end is a unique product designed to handle the harshest of conditions. This broom consists of a metal cap that is machine pressed to take the hammering this broom receives during use. The baked finish inside and out prevents rust. No loose handles, no fiber fallout or crude appearance. Polypropylene fibers are heat-fused and locked in place by steel, zinc-plated rivets. Polypropylene will not rot or become brittle in temperatures down to -70 Deg F and performs perfectly in temperatures up to 225 Deg F. Stiff sweeping action is produced by galvanized wire bands clinched securely in place with “C” hooks. Steel-sleeve protects the straight grained, quality hardwood handle against abrasion and handle wear. Extended service life reduces track maintenance costs because sleeve, fibers and cap are riveted into one rugged unit. Drop-forged and hardened steel chisel with sharp ground edge. Tang rounded to prevent splitting and spread shock of impact. Flashing on tang prevents rotation, sets chisel firmly in handle. Tapered steel ferrule eliminates protrusion that may damage track equipment. Packaged twelve per carton.
